Somerville, Mass. - Area unions and labor leaders have decided to wage a campaign against Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRIT) for its recent decision to hire non-union labor to build a 448-unit apartment at the Assembly Square, and on January 22, the Board of Aldermen joined the movement, voting a resolution urging FRIT to reverse its decision.

BOSTON/Copley Square - Noam Chomsky and Vijay Prashad shared their thoughts Thursday on the outcome of the recent US elections to four hundred people at Old South Church in Boston, MA USA. BOSTON/Park Street - The progressive organizing space encuentro 5 is moving. After six years at 33 Harrison Avenue in Chinatown, they've pulled up stakes and set up anew in a more central location in the Park Street area. Resident organizations held their first meeting in the new space last Thursday, and they expect to be open for meetings and events soon.
