Letter: Help Kickstart HONK!

To the Editor and Viewers of Open Media Boston,

This year's HONK! Festival is just around the corner (Sept 30 - Oct 3, a week earlier than last year) and, in addition to our regular nine hours of free performances by two dozen bands on Saturday and the Sunday parade down Mass Ave, we have also initiated some new features for this year's HONK! that are guaranteed to please: A Friday night showcase at Johnny D's; A Sunday evening boat cruise with all the bands invited; a HONK! conference at Harvard on Monday; and more.

To help make this year's festival a reality, we have launched a HONK! Kickstarter campaign at:http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dnb/2011-honk-festival-of-activist-s... to help bring bands from far and wide for your listening pleasure.

We need to raise $10,000 by August 18 to make this campaign a success. Please consider making a donation so we can fill our streets with music and spectacle once again. We'd also appreciate it if you could forward this link to anyone else you think might also want to support HONK!.
