Open Media Boston 2011 Summer Appeal
Over the next couple of months, we’ll be holding some fundraisers for Open Media Boston - in person and online - with the aim of building the new website that we’ve been wanting for round about two years now. We’ve long-since reached the limit of what we can do with this our first website, and feel that we can only grow and continue to present more of the progressive news and views we’ve become known for with a web presence that makes use of the latest technology. Specifically, we’re very keen to make it easier for people with validated accounts on reputable social media sites like Facebook to log into our site, comment on our articles, and share our articles with their friends. We’d also like to feature content from our blogs and other sites that are “friends of OMB” - the better to pump more interesting content to our growing audience while giving our friends’ sites a boost in viewership. And there are a bunch of other innovations we'd also like to make. So we figure this is a good time to announce our 2011 Summer Appeal, and encourage our regular viewers to get on our fundraising bandwagon early by making tax deductible donations to Open Media Boston even before we launch our purpose-built fundraisers. Doing that is easy. Just click the big red "Donate to OMB!"button on the top left corner of every page on this website, and donate whatever you can afford to us via Paypal. If you’d prefer to send a check, just email us at info [at] openmediaboston [dot] org and we’ll send you instructions on how to do that.
One note: if you have any suggestions to make for other features you'd like to see on our new website, just drop us an email.
One other note: if you're a web developer or designer and would like to give us a hand with our new site's development process, drop us an email about that too. We'd also love for someone to build us an iPhone/Android app.
Cheers to all, and hope everyone's having a good summer.
