Thanks to Everyone Who Made NCMR a Great Conference - for OMB and 2500 Friends

Since we're playing catch up this week after days of meeting and greeting and public events, I'll limit this editorial to thanking to all the folks who made the 2011 National Conference for Media Reform such great time for us - and over 2500 old and new friends. Starting with Candace Clement, Libby Reinish and the whole crew at Free Press. All our fellow NCMR Local Host Committee members - including Cara Lisa Berg Powers from Press Pass TV, Rekha Murty and Emily Corwin from Public Radio Exchange, Andrew Whitacre from the MIT Center for the Future of Civic Media, Nicole Belanger from CCTV, and Jaclyn Friedman from Women, Action and the Media. Further thanks are due to Joanna Marinova and Cara from Press Pass TV asking us to help organize the fun pre-NCMR party at encuentro 5 - and to Suren and Kira Moodliar for handling e5 setup. And finally, big ups to all the people that attended the party and the two NCMR events that we were involved with - the NCMR Boston Caucus and the roundtable on forming a Boston media reform network (and further ups to Peter Miller, Deborah Finn, the Tech Foundation, and everyone else involved with the NCMR pre-event at the Charles Hotel last month). And of course thanks to all my fellow Open Media Boston peeps that made the scene at NCMR: R. Wayne Clark, David Goodman, Carly Maltais, Andrew McLeod, Peter Miller and Annie Shreffler. And finally to the many OMB viewers that said hi at the conference - a number of whom I got to meet for the first time. We got a lot out of the conference and lead-up events, and hope that we come out of NCMR with a new Boston media reform network over the months to come. This city is certainly ready for some media action - if the large number of local attendees we saw on hand this weekend is any gauge.
