Ty dePass on Racism the Media and the Struggle for Justice in Post-Racial America
BOSTON/Copley Square - Boston community organizer and antiracism activist Ty dePass presented a speech on "Racism, the Media, and the Struggle for Justice in 'Post-Racial America,'" at the Community Church of Boston on February 22, 2009. The speech was given as part of the Community Church of Boston's 27th annual W.E.B. DuBois Memorial Address, and was part of the church's Sunday Speakers Forum. In his speech, dePass discusses the recent coverage of corruption allegations against City Councilor Chuck Turner and former State Senator Diane Wilkerson and what he identifies as mainstream media's three-prong strategy to discredit current black community leadership in Boston.
