Back in the (Proverbial) Saddle
Regular Open Media Boston viewers take note ... after many months of work on my thesis and accompanying artwork, I got my MFA in Visual Arts from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University in late June. [And, yes, Lesley was the "minor metropolitan university" that I joked about attending in occasional mentions of my extra-journalistic activities in editorials over the last two and a half years.]
Half a month later, I'm back to my editorial duties full-time. Which is pretty, well, weird. I keep expecting to have a revision due, or a presentation to make, or ... I dunno ... something that had to be done yesterday for some professor or group of professors. But I don't. I'm all done with school. Like really really done. Wow.
So, the OMB staff is cranking out fresh content after a short holiday break of their own. And you'll be seeing my editorials on a regular basis again starting now. We're all rearing to go here (to conclude my horse related metaphor).
You'll also be seeing some interesting changes to OMB as we work hard to expand our news operation to fill a larger part of the yawning information vacuum that is engulfing Boston's neighborhoods as the traditional news media continues its rolling collapse. I think they'll be changes you'll all like. But we'll cross those bridges as we come to them.
Cheers to all ...

I look forward to hearing much more from you now that you've been "released"! Feels good, doesn't it?
Congratulations and best of luck.
Thanks, Susan!
And yes, it's great to be finished.
