Climate Change Activists Call on State Legislature to Dump Dirty Investments
BOSTON/State House - State legislators were called on Wednesday to give up Massachusetts’ investments in fossil fuel-related corporations contributing to climate change.Â
Around 50 members and supporters of the local chapter of environmental group 350.org rallied outside the State House before going inside to lobby the politicians. According to a statement prepared by the group, the Bay State has $1.4bn invested in environmentally unfriendly ventures. Several participants in the rally spoke out in support of a Senate bill that would divest the state from corporations that they say are destroying our environment.
