BOSTON/Kenmore Square - Several environmental activists from Rising Tide Boston handed out samples of "green coal" - actual pieces of coal painted green - to lunchtime passers-by outside the Bank of America branch at Boston University today to protest the bank's investment in coal power.

Natick, MA - Patty Kupfer of America's Voice was the keynote speaker at an event sponsored by Pax Christi and several faith organizations in the Metrowest area on Monday, Oct 20th at the Natick Library. She spoke about the importance of caring for immigrants and related their plight to one of the most famous migrants, Jesus. Much of his narrative is a plea to followers to welcome and assist the traveler and the stranger.

Walking in Davis Square two days before the election, I saw a rather dour-looking young man seated on a high pedestal holding a handwritten sign that read “No on Socialism.” Heading on by him, I looked at the back of his sign. It said, “Is Obama an American?”

No longer are PC and Mac users stuck with only the operating system that shipped with their hardware. Users have several choices of virtualization software that allows them to concurrently run a virtual guest machine with the same or a different operating system from their host machine.
