This is a photo essay of the July 4th 2010 Boston fireworks - shot from the Cambridge side of the Charles River ... directly in front of the fireworks barge.
Where the Hell is Arnaldo? is a whirlwind tour of Dorchester in the style of the viral video "Where the hell is Matt?" Arnaldo Pires, who is graduating this month from Jeremiah Burke High School, produced this video as an assignment for the Digital Connectors Program at the Boston Centers for Youth and Families' Grove Hall Community Center. Students in the program were asked to produce videos about the places, objects and memories that most influenced them.
WGBH sent along the following promo clip of an upcoming Ralph Nader appearance on their national interview show María Hinojosa: One-on-One. The segment will air on June 22nd at 7:30 p.m. on WGBH Channel 2/HD. Looks like it's definitely worth checking out.
The following is a photo essay of a rally held outside the Park Street T Station on Saturday. Several Boston area immigrant organizations and supporters originally called the event to protest anti-immigrant legislation recently passed in Arizona, but expanded the protest to include criticism of anti-immigrant immigrant amendments passed last week in the Mass. Senate as part of their version of the annual state budget bill.

BOSTON - In a surprise move, OmniMegaCorp of New York and Ulan Bator - a leisure service of the Bank of Insubtantia - proclaimed its hostile takeover of Open Media Boston at an early morning press conference in a bunker in an undisclosed location.
OmniMegaCorp Chairman Translation Yclept set a brisk agenda for his first day in charge of the once-feisty weekly news publication. Over a bowl of the company's much-feared Weevilz'n'Bitz breakfast slurry, his first order of business was to crush all opposition.

BOSTON/Fenway - President Obama spoke at Northeastern University's Cabot Gym on Sunday in the hopes of galvanizing people to vote for Martha Coakley for senator. The line of those waiting outside the gym stretched down from Cabot along Huntington Ave and wrapped around Matthews Arena, circling back to Krentzman Quad.
In the Bourne neighborhood of Jamaica Plain, Andrée Zaleska and Ken Ward, with their 3 boys, Simon 8, Eli 9, and Kuba 11, are rehabbing a 100 year old, abandoned, former corner store to serve as their new home, a demonstration of sustainable living & passivhaus design, community center and climate campaigning "hub" for Bill McKibben's 350.org.
