BOSTON/Chinatown - The #OccupyBoston General Assembly held its third 5-hour meeting Thursday night at the encuentro5 movement space in Chinatown to plan logistics for Friday’s 6 p.m. occupation of Boston’s Dewey Square Park. 90 people filled rows of folding chairs and lined up along the floor. Half were first-timers and a few were veterans of Occupy Wall Street in New York. After a brief announcement of guidelines on group process facilitators summarized decisions taken the night before.

BOSTON/Boston Common - The #OccupyBoston General Assembly held its second meeting last night at the Parkman Bandstand on the Boston Common. Over 200 people attended and immediately went into meetings of the working groups they had formed at the first meeting. After deliberating on specific tasks for over an hour each group reported back to the assembly. Still lacking a sound system speakers sometimes used the People's Microphone technique and had their words repeated in unison by several people as they spoke.

Cambridge, Mass. - Last Thursday, as Palestinian leadership pushed for recognition of an independent state at the United Nations, over 50 people attended a Harvard Square demonstration in support of that ongoing effort.

Cambridge, Mass. - Over 500 union members and allies held a Labor Day March between Cambridge City Hall and the Cambridge Common via Harvard Yard on Monday. The event was organized by Service Employees International Union Local 615 and several other labor unions, together with area community and religious organizations.
